I just read this, and it actually brought tears to my eyes (as cheesy as that sounds)! I admit that in school I was also the kind of student who put in extra effort to make sure I always got an A. I graduated in May (summa cum laude), and ever since then my self worth has taken a real dive. I don't have my grades or school work to prove that I am smart are important or capable. Now I only have my struggle to find a job, and I admit that the rejection is making me feel small.

Thank you for sharing this. It was exactly what I needed to read right now!

Although I have never completely been anorexic, I believe something very similar, maybe possibly even some form of anorexia, could have done some damage to my development. When I was a bit younger I went through some difficult things. I always tried hard to make myself eat so I wouldn't get sick with anorexia, however at times I would not be able to eat at all, and would have to force myself to eat for fear of becoming anorexic. Yet I still became very very skinny. Now I am nearly 17, am back to normal yet still skinny, and am still flat chested. These problems I had only happened a few years ago and I am afraid they could have caused problems in my development. Could these problems I had that made me very very skinny also have caused problems in my normal body development and small chest? If so, are these problems permanent or can I later begin developing how I was supposed to? Will this cause me to be flat forever? I'm barely a size 32A.

Your philosophy is very noble! TMOOH (or any other clothing brand) is a perfect platform for such a campaign and advocacy! Clothing should be more than just a fashion statement (to make us look good) but it should also make us feel good (not just because we think we look good wearing it) because it sheds meaning to self-worth and true beauty from within. We feel good wearing TMOOH because we know that when we wear it we make an impact to others when they see the designs, the statements on our TMOOHs. TMOOH will make us look good, and feel good inside! Good job Brett! More power and God bless! :)

Gem - It sounds like you totally understand the nature of how challenging the beginning stages of starting a business is all about. I am right there with you. It sounds like you and I are very similar. Being able to love yourself and do something for yourself is so crucial to our happiness. The author of a book I recently read made a point that seems counter intuitive but it is entirely relevant. He said that motivation actually follows action rather than action following motivations. If you can take some seemingly very small steps toward your goal you might be able to create some momentum. There is a quote by Steve Prefontaine that I love which might ignite something in you like it has with myself. Steve said, "to give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift." Don't sacrifice your gift. Even without knowing you I can confidently say I believe in your ability to manifest even the wildest dreams. Best of luck, Gem.

Brett,

I can relate on the aspect of self-worth and being an entrepreneur; but in a different way. I see my lack of self-worth as not pushing myself to actually run my business. I have had an LLC for 2 years and have not done anything with it yet. I am able to drop everything to help anybody else out... but when it comes to doing something for myself... I am lacking. For the past few months, that is what I have been concentrating on, along with trying to figure out how to gain that self-worth. I think I am also scared. So, extreme kudos to you for at least running your business and having the motivation to be doing something for YOURSELF!!!

In one of my entrepreneurship classes, I learned that the coffee cup sleeve was patented by a man (sorry, I do not have his name) and he talked to Starbucks first to exclusively sell it to them. They turned him down. Obviously, they are extremely popular in every coffee shop, to this day... and Starbucks missed out on the chance to be the only one to offer them. That being said, just because someone says "no" to you, may not mean that you are missing out... it may very much mean that they are missing out. I am glad you found the light within. God bless.

Thanks so much for sharing Brett. That's what makes TMOOH stand out from all those other companies: That personal touch. Asking people to share their own struggles, and then sharing your own, makes the company that much more real than any other.
