We live in a world where the definition of beauty is very narrow. Magazines, movies and runways tell us that beauty is a size zero, a perfectly sculpted body, a symmetrical face, a mathematical equation of proportions. In response to the lack of positive influencers on healthy body image, we decided to do something about it. This led to the birth of The Monument of Our Hearts, a clothing label that acts as a positive force in an industry that has shaped today’s narrow definition of beauty.
We long to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and view clothing as an avenue for positive change. At our very core we are artists and dreamers that live and breathe design and will use these talents to reach out to those who look in the mirror and see a skewed perception of themselves. We have set out to challenge the modern mold of beauty. Our goal is to encourage, motivate, and support those who struggle daily conforming to society’s narrow definition of beauty.
We are proud of our clothing – clothing that not only makes a difference to those who wear it, but also those who produce it. The suppliers and manufacturers that we have selectively chosen adhere to fair labor practices, safe working conditions, offer generous living wages, and strive for environmental responsibility. We believe that a company should be a positive force in the lives of employees, shareholders, the environment, and customers.
